COVID-19 Policies & Practices
Infection control has always been a top priority and something we have taken very seriously. As such, we have introduced enhanced safety measures in three key areas – within our offices, through our team members, and most importantly, for our patients:
Our office has invested in new equipment and technology to meet and exceed CDC, WHO, OSHA, and ADA recommendations, as well as state DOH mandates.
We have installed air purification systems, from Surgically Clean Air, to aggressively address airborne particle removal and cyclical air turnover to ensure the highest air quality throughout our facilities.
Additionally, we have implemented the use of HealthyAir® Source Capture Dental Oral Aerosol Extractors. These units are strategically positioned to capture aerosols from the emission source, filter contaminants, and discharge treated air away from the breathing zone, thereby improving indoor air quality and helping to protect the health of dentists, hygienists, and patients.
For our patients requiring Nitrous Oxide, since 2009, we have implemented single patient use, disposable, nasal hoods and tubing, which not only offers improved infection control, but are much lighter, are lower profile, and are more comfortable than the ones traditionally used in dental offices across the country.
In reception, we have installed front desk acrylic barriers as an auxiliary safety measure to protect patients and team members, pre- and post-procedure. With these partitions in place and ongoing infection control, we are offering the safest environment possible, in our offices, for our patients and team members alike.
Our team members
A significant part of creating a safe setting for our patients to receive treatment is making sure our team members feel safe and comfortable. To that point, we have implemented strict PPE protocol, to guarantee that our team members are protected at all times.
We require each team member to utilize a N95 or KN95 mask, surgical mask, face shield, hair protection, and a clean/new gown or surgical jacket – and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. From the onset of the pandemic, going forward, we carefully monitor the health of our employees daily. Strict protocols are in place to ensure our team is healthy for the safety of themselves, our team as a whole, their families, and our patients.
As always, we appreciate your loyalty and trust in choosing us as your provider and for that reason, we are exceedingly committed to our promise of the optimal patient experience, each and every time.
To further optimize the patient experience with us, we will continue vigilant pre-screening for patients, fewer, more spaced appointments, clear reception areas, and social distancing regulations are firmly in place in every aspect of our office
You will see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made the following changes to help protect our patients and staff.
You will check-in by texting us from your car or outside the building at 201-989-0190
Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer beverages, ipads, and children’s toys during this time.
Only one guardian and the patient will be allowed in the office.
- We request no outside gloves be worn in the office.
Masks will be required for everyone entering the office.
Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients.
We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you.
In addition to appointment confirmations, we will now be using our paperless feature to sign treatment consents, send out invoices, and to make payments.
Our friends will have the option to pick their prizes ahead of time using our prize menu.
And, for those patients seeking an alternative to in-person visits, we have launched telehealth appointments at Edgewater Pediatric Dentistry. If you’d like to take advantage of this offering , you can request a virtual appointment by clicking here.
